Quality furs in the third generation
Leivonniemi Oy is a Finnish family business and one of the leading fur and leather wholesalers in Finland. We have 60 years of experience with furs and skins, and the company is now run by the third generation of the family. We supply furs, fur skins, fur plates and leathers, as well as furrier's tools and supplies, to customers in Finland and around the world.
From a trader's passion to a family business
Our story began 60 years ago, when Heimo Leivonniemi, known as an energetic trader, opened his own fur shop. Heimo bought and sold furs and skins and also started fur farming. He used only the best raw materials, and the same principle still guides our work today. When the business got off to a good start, Heimo's children joined in: Aimo as managing director and Anita in charge of marketing.
From father to son
Heimo's grandson Matti Leivonniemi has run the company since 2012. Before becoming managing director, Matti worked alongside his father Aimo for ten years and learned the trade and the business thoroughly. On Aimo's far-sighted advice, Matti also studied Russian, and his language skills have been one of our strengths in growing internationally.
We serve you according to your needs
Our largest single product group is unprocessed Finnish blue fox skins. We sell furs in large lots and down to a single whole skin.
We tailor our service to each customer's needs. If you wish, we take care of the whole chain from order to finished product. We buy raw skins at auctions and from farms, process the material and manage the subcontracting. You can also choose only what you need, for example unprocessed fur skins, fur plates or supplies.
